VLC Remote Control from an IPhone

I am a lover of watching movies or sports events before I sleep at night in my bed. My only possibility is to use a PC Monitor as a TV. So, I need to use a Media Player tool for Windows for making this and connect it with IPTV that I use. The big problem over years was: How to control IPTV without need to stand up from bed?

Control via browser

The first way, is to control VLC directly via browser in your IPhone, but it is not designed for a small screen like IPhone.

This is an app that you can find directly on App store from your IPhone. It is a free application. VLC Mobile Remote has some facilities built-in. Setup VLC Remote Control on Computer

The first thing you need to do is to active VLC for working in remote. Let’s start:

Step 1

Open VLC and access the Preferences Menu. Click the Show All Button at the bottom of the opened window:

Expand Interfaces Menu -> Select ‘Main Interfaces’, then Select the ‘Web’ Checkbox.

Step 3

Now expand ‘Main Interfaces’. Select ‘Iua’ from Menu from the expanded dropdown. On the right side panel in ‘Iua Http’ section set password.

Step 4

Click Save. Close VLC, and re-open it. Make sure that both IPhone and Computer are in the same network Wi-Fi !
